First impressions matter, especially in business. Whether it's a patient walking into a dental clinic, a guest sitting down for breakfast, or a parent dropping their child off for the day, lighting is one of the first things people notice, even if they don't consciously register it.

Over the past couple of years, Four Peaks Power has provided commercial electrical services and commercial lighting installations across a wide range of businesses in Victoria, BC, from dental clinics to a new West Shore restaurant to a local child care center. Here's a look at some of the spaces we've had the chance to help bring to life.

Healthcare and Dental Offices

Dental clinics have become a real specialty for our team, and it's easy to see why lighting matters so much in this setting. A dental practice needs to do two very different jobs at once: create a warm, anxiety-reducing environment for patients up front, and deliver high-performance, ultra-precise illumination for the clinical team in the back.

AUSCA Dental is one of our favourite examples of this balance. The design centers on a stunning illuminated oak tree feature wall, a backlit wood slat installation that brings a natural element indoors and helps patients feel more relaxed the moment they walk through the door. Circular ring ceiling fixtures throughout the space carry that same warm, modern feel, blending clinical function with a sense of calm.

At Campus Dental, the goal was to bring a vibrant, modern clinic design to life. Sleek, curved architectural LED strips frame the reception area, while high-output, flush-mount panel lighting in the treatment rooms gives the clinical team the precise illumination they need. Neon signage adds a playful, contemporary touch up front.

For Royal Bay Dental, we designed and installed a custom lighting solution in partnership with Skyline Contracting, built around a simple idea: lighting should be warm where it needs to feel calming, and bright and precise where clinical accuracy matters. From the reception desk through to the treatment rooms, the fixtures were chosen to build trust before a single word is spoken between patient and staff.

At Moss Street Dental, pot lighting runs throughout the office, but the standout feature is the dramatic backlit stone-look reception desk, a jaw-dropping first impression for anyone walking in. Linear LED panel fixtures in the treatment rooms keep the clinical spaces bright, clean, and functional.

Across all four projects, the throughline is the same: good lighting design does more than illuminate a room. It sets the tone for the entire patient experience. These builds also reflect a broader trend we're seeing across Victoria, BC: LED lighting installation is fast becoming the standard for medical and dental offices looking to modernize the patient experience while keeping energy costs down.

Hospitality and Food Service

Commercial lighting looks different when the priority shifts from clinical precision to atmosphere and energy.

The Ruby on Wale, a new restaurant location in Colwood, needed an electrical backbone that could keep operations running smoothly through busy weekend rushes. As the restaurant electrician on this Greater Victoria build, our team handled the heavy-duty commercial power infrastructure behind the scenes, along with the clean interior accent lighting and neon signage that welcomes guests at the door. The result is a vibrant, beautifully lit space that boosts evening visibility and matches the premium feel of the surrounding West Shore community.

We've also had the opportunity to work with The Breakfast Shop, supporting their commercial electrical and lighting needs to help create a bright, welcoming space for customers throughout the day.

Community and Child Care

Not every commercial project is about ambiance. Sometimes the priority is pure function, and getting it right matters even more.

At Gorge Tillicum Child Care, we completed a comprehensive indoor and outdoor lighting project for a space dedicated to the growth and safety of Victoria's youngest residents. Our team handled everything from bright, high-efficiency interior fixtures that keep classrooms and common areas energized, to modern, weather-resistant exterior lighting that enhances site security long after the sun goes down. The entire installation was completed with zero disruption to the center's day-to-day operations, a priority when the work happens around children and staff.
